There was a lot of work involved in creating my new bathroom. I had no bath and decided that I wanted to revert back to a normal bathroom, with bath, shower in bath, wash-hand basin and toilet. I also decided on a new central heating radiator which suited the bathroom.
However the bathroom was completely tiled throughout, therefore the walls had to be taken down completely and new walls built. This was after carefully removing the toilet and part of the existing built in units and a couple of floor tiles. (This was a saving for me, as my cloakroom toilet on the ground floor had a leaking cistern and as it was a coloured suite, of toilet and wash-hand basin, I would have had to buy a completely new suite – and I did not like any of the small wash-hand basins on offer. Igor had suggested using the toilet from upstairs, a brilliant idea.)
Once the new walls were up , the new bath was placed – however I wanted the bath taps at the end away from the shower – so that required some precise plumbing, but Igor was up to the challenge.
I did not want the whole bathroom to be tiled, just at the shower end and the side of the bath – everywhere else only half way up the wall with a trim along the top. The rest of the walls required plastering which again Igor did well, with a neat trim round the window.
It was all finished off with floor tiles, which completed the bathroom to perfection and left me decidedly happy.
Igor then moved to the downstairs cloakroom and took out the old toilet and cistern and built up the wooden unit to fit the toilet from upstairs. It required quite a bit of joinery work, but was very neatly finished. He also laid the floor tiles he had saved from upstairs and correctly put the toilet on the top of these.
All the work was done neatly and cleanly and I am delighted with the finished result.

I live in Durham and own a small flat in Edinburgh that was in dreadful condition. It needed new flooring throughout, a new kitchen worktop, plumbing and electrical work in both the kitchen and bathroom. I employed someone to work on it for me, but having started the job they walked out and left the flat in an even worse state. Fortunately I came across Igor’s webpage and arranged for him to do the work. He completed everything to a very high standard, promptly and at a fair price. We were truly lucky to find Igor when were searched for a Handyman. Igor has carried out a variety of jobs for us eg. Replacing the seal around the bath and sink, replacement of a broken glass panel in the greenhouse, outside replacement of door frames, installing outdoor lights, outside painting of the extension, replacement of an oven element, cleaning of the patio and other jobs to numerous to mention. One large job Igor carried out was the repair and cleaning of a fibreglass pond. What can we say, we are absolutely thrilled with the result and that goes from the fish also.

gor’s first job for us was to remove an integrated cupboard in the kitchen and to plaster and re-floor the ugly spaces left behind. He fitted a new sink and sanded & oiled the oak worktops. Igor’s eye for detail and work ethic easily persuaded us to ask him to take on our bathroom next. After some discussion about the job we entrusted Igor with the house-keys and went off our annual holiday abroad! We stayed in touch by email and returned two weeks later to a beautifully tiled bathroom floor, the ceramic tiles perfectly cut and laid in the pattern we’d agreed. Igor also plumbed in the new heated towel rail and we are delighted with the end result.

Excellence as standard: Igor did what he promised, when he promised – on time, on budget, and extremely well indeed. He transformed the dingy and decrepit loo into a room we can happily use. The ceiling and wooden-clad walls were stripped right back to brick and studs and then beautifully plastered/painted, redundant pipes from about 1900 were carefully removed to allow the basin to be repositioned, and the plumbing was all renewed tidily and thoroughly tested to ensure there were no leaks. Igor was very careful to be considerate and clean – he kept disruption to a minimum. Communication was clear, pricing was fair, and we are absolutely delighted with the rather elegant result. We had so many different things needing doing, including filling in gaps in skirtings and door frames where electrician had taken out old sockets. As well as replastering, painting, and putting up shelves in a big Edinburgh tenement type kitchen cupboard/pantry. Igor redecorated a large, high ceiling bedroom of 22sq metres, re-plastering areas and painting the ceiling, walls and wood work. He also laid a new oak floor in the same bedroom. We were absolutely delighted with the end result.
